Activision has revealed what Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 players can expect across the two title's first season of content. Beginning 16th November 2022 — the release date of Warzone 2 — Modern Warfare 2 users will be introduced two new maps, a fourth co-op mission named High Ground, and CDL Moshpit. Shared with Warzone 2, there are also two new assault rifles to unlock as well as two more Operators in Gaz and Klaus.
With Modern Warfare 2 and the new Warzone sequel, ranking up past Military Rank 55 will allow players to earn a consistent Prestige rank across all seasons, which is a amazing improvement over the past seasonal Prestige systems that reset at the end of each season.
Tokens can be used to either unlock adjacent sectors or earn more items within an unlocked sector. Basically, these tokens allow players to unlock specific items with the battle pass at their own pace, skipping around to get the things they want. This means players can go for the sought after items like weapons and operator skins by unlocking those sectors first! Additionally, Season 1 adds a new Spec Ops mission and the game's first Raid. Activision said the raid will be narrative-focused as it continues the Modern Warfare II story in some capacity.
The city of Al-Mazrah within the United Republic of Adal will be your first map for Warzone 2.0. You may have already explored some of its regions in Multiplayer maps like Al Bagra Fortress, Embassy, Zarqwa Hydroelectric, Taraq, Sariff Bay, and Sa’id.
The new Gulag is a 2v2 environment where randomly chosen Duos must team up to take down the enemy. All players will be given a predefined Loadout with advanced weaponry and gear placed near the map’s center. The Gulag Jailer will jump in to interfere. Defeating the Jailer returns all four Gulag prisoners back into the match!
In Strongholds, fight off AI opponents while trying to find and disarm a bomb within the time limit. Black Sites offer an even greater risk but provide a permanent Weapon Blueprint reward and valuable in-match items for those who can complete them.
